Here are the details for the L4D patch. It's only live on the pc right now but it should be up in a couple of days(weeks) for the xbox. Players can no longer grab ladders while flying through the air after a Tank punch
Shooting near a car with an alarm that has already fired the alarm will no longer make chirping noises
Improved loading time
Fixed mini-gun physics exploit
Fixed propane tanks (and other physics objects) causing players to fall through elevators
Fixed rare achievement bug issues
Fixed several map exploits
Fixed various match making issues
Fixed NAT traversal issues

Fixed exploit where infected players could run away and teleport back to gain health
Players can only change teams once per map
Players can't change teams while other players are still loading
Tank spawns at the same % through the map for both teams in versus mode
Made the Tank and Witch spawn directly on the escape route
Increased chance of getting the Tank or Witch
Fixed team swap issue Hunter
Easier to pounce a Survivor who is meleeing
Increased Minimum damage a Hunter pounce does Smoker
Fixed Smoker tongue tolerance
Smoker now has to be killed or the tongue destroyed for the tongue to break
Survivors cannot bash someone off the tongue until the Survivor being pulled is paralyzed or hanging
Tongue attacks that fail to paralyze or hang a Survivor will use the shorter ability delay timer
Fixed cases where the ability timer was not using the correct time

Smoker tongue does damage every second while dragging paralyzed Survivors Tank

Tanks hitting a car with an alarm disables the alarm permanently
Tank frustration timer is only reset by hitting Survivors with rocks or fists

I can't exactly tell from that but did they get rid of that cheap ass "under the stairs" bullshit on the No Mercy Finale?

Word came from Valve today that the previously announced expansion pack for Left 4 Dead will be free on both the PC and the Xbox 360. Most gamers expected that the PC version would include the content for free, but that the Xbox 360 would be saddled with a price tag like a certain other Valve shooter. But apparently the entire set will be available for both platforms without cost when the pack hits this spring. The "Survival Pack" includes a new Survival game mode and two new Versus campaigns. If you haven't picked up the game yet, a new Critic's Choice Edition will be shipping this spring that includes the Survival Pack content. Luckily it's free, so if you have the game already it's not as if you're missing out on the special edition

"Valve announced today that their new DLC, entitled “The Survival Pack” will be available on Xbox Live starting April 21st. The pack will contain the two missing Versus maps Death Toll and Dead Air, as well the new Survival mode, and will cost 0 Microsoft Points (kudos to Valve for delivering on its promise)! The Survival mode will put players in certain locations taken from the game, and challenging them to merely survive for as long as possible against endless zombie hordes while an onscreen clock ticks off their pathetically short life spans. The game play should be fast, frantic, and unforgiving: rumor has it not even the game’s developers at Valve have made it to the ten minute mark. Survival mode sounds like the perfect addition to the game for fans who have already played the campaigns to death: here’s hoping for some more mini (and free) updates from Valve with new Survival locations in the future."

What's the game about? It's a tour through the zombie-infested dirty south. It's a journey that starts in good ol'Savannah, GA down to post-Katrina (and super-rabies infected) New Orleans, LA. It's also a sequel that corrects a fatal, fatal flaw in the previous game: Left 4 Dead had no chainsaw. What's new for E3? Everything, since E3 is the first unveiling of Left 4 Dead 2. When asked, "why is this a sequel, and not a DLC update?" Valve employee Chet Faliszek commented that, when you sit down and examine it, you get a lot of content. "Five whole campaigns, all playable in Co-Op, Survival, Versus, and a new mode we're not announcing yet; new characters, new weapons, items, and infected," are among the things that Faliszek mentions.
First off, let's tackle the biggest change/addition: the fact that it's daylight. Besides the obvious visual change, the daylight adds some gameplay tweaks. "Witches wander around in the daylight -- she's not as easy to avoid startling. Also, the zombies (even though I've been told the "official fiction" of Left 4 Dead is infection rather than zombification, Faliszek just uses "zombie" from this point on) are a lot more agitated during the day." Faliszek also noted how the general backdrop for the campaigns will subtly reflect their descent into chaos; "you start out in beautiful, and generally safe Savannah, and then you end up in New Orleans where you're told 'do not go beyond that line, it's not safe.' Also, as you can probably infer, the campaigns are actually connected this time; which is interesting, as I'm pretty sure that was the original intent of the first game, and then it got changed to four separate stories.
The new melee weapons add an interesting element to the game, as melee attacks are no longer non-damaging space-creators/crowd-control moves; they are now capable of delivering damage and adding some new tactical options. For example, the aforementioned Witch can be killed silently and instantly; a skilled player can plant the perfect swing of a fireman's axe to put her down instead of fussing around with a hunting rifle or a shotgun. Also, the frying pan just makes an obscenely satisfying sound when you smack zombies in the face with it.
Only one new "item" was on display: the incendiary rounds. When you snag incendiary rounds, you have a couple magazine's (that how it seemed during my playthrough) worth of ammunition that lights the Infected on fire -- each round feels like a miniature Molotov cocktail. Faliszek notes, "we're not discussing other items yet, but consider this: you have your primary weapon or firearm, your pistols, your item -- be it pipe bombs or molotovs -- and either pain pills or medkits. So the items will be enhancements or modifications of those core components."
Finally, Valve was showing one new special Infected: the Charger. He's a big burly dude that runs really, really fast and instantly knocks people down. Faliszek pointed out that the Charger can take down multiple players simultaneously; making him the extreme example of crowd control for the Infected. "Also, one of the campaigns ends on a bridge, and the A.I. Director is a total bitch when it drops a Charger to knock everyone off."
What's our take? It's the sequel to one of my favorite shooters in the last few years. The new characters don't exhibit quite as much personality at the moment, but I'm assuming that will be worked on. I also love the fact that Chad L. Coleman (who played "Cutty" on The Wire) will be voicing the character named Coach. So that's already one good step in making these new characters identifiable. The new weapons, items, and Infected feel like pretty good additions on top of a really solid foundation. I'll have to see more, and play it enough to see how big a change this title is from its predecessor, but at the very least, I do like what I played a lot. Well, the fact that the A.I. Director can still make you go "OH SHIT" during broad daylight, and the ability to smash someone in the face with a frying pan is good enough for me so far.
